Another year down and another “Best of” post to do as I have done in 2007 and 2008 . 2009 was a year to be forgotten, judging by a lot of the Facebook status’ I saw in at the beginning of the month, and after recession hit full whack and the unemployment register met new heights even beating out the 39% spike in the 80′s I could tend to agree. All that on top of the fact that I turned 30! 
But this post is not about the bad things that happened in 2009, rather the best of what did happen for me personally. And so I will begin with a few pictures that defined the year 2009 for me, as I always do.

| Funniest Video: | New category this year and it goes to Trekkies Bash New Star Trek Movie |
| Funniest Image: | Has to be Gothcake |
| Best TV Show: | Modern Family was the biggest surprise hit for me and so gets this years award |
| Best Movie: | Definitely the toughest and I have decided not to make this one a tie! Sooo I’m doing a top 5 …. 1. The Hangover 2. Zombieland 3. Star Trek 4. Watchmen 5. Moon |
| Best Gig: | That would have to be my bro’s last gig in Cork before moving to Brighton to go to music college |
| Best Festival: | The epic drama in Spain makes Electric Picnic 09 this years winner, even though I was off the drink for it bar one of two cocktails!  |
| Best Holiday: | For pure relaxation and tasty grub alone its has to be my birthday holiday to Gdansk, Poland |
| Best Drink: | My drink of choice in 2009 was Jim Beam and Sprite! |

| Best restaurant: | Has to go to the Inniscarra Restaurant in the Blarney Golf Resort |
| Best Son: | Ooohh tough one again in 2009, think Conor gets it again this year! |
| Best Girlfriend: | And the award goes to…. …. …. Louise Hynes for her performance in Girfriends To be Grateful For!  |
| Best Wedding: | I had a great time and drank WAY too much at Claire and Aidans wedding in Rome in April |
